House Update...

So we think we have a house picked out - new construction. This could change in the next 30 seconds, but for right now I think we both appreciate the fact that we will be purchasing a house that doesn't require any major updates for about a decade. ish. After completely redoing our current house, this sound ah-maze-ing.

So we're pretty set on the Venice floorplan with Ryan homes. A 4 bedroom is a must, and that about knocked every other builder out. Drees was way out of our price range, and the Fisher and M/I in our range had teensy bedrooms (we're talking 9x10).

Location, location, location is the dilemma now. Right now I drive 20 minutes the opposite direction of work to drop Will off at his (super great so no way we are switching) babysitter's house in Eastgate. So that adds 40 minutes to my morning and afternoon commute. (I'll give you a second to do the math... 20+20... k) Yuck.

There is an Eastgate and a Milford location, and we just have to make an old fashioned pro/con list and figure it out... I'm leaning Milford - and although it will still take 20 minutes to take Will to the sitter, at least it's not back tracking and Billy will be WAY closer to his office and Milford schools are rated way better. Decisions, decisions...

Thoughts?

For Sale. Almost.

So we've decided to bite the real estate bullet and put our house on the market... and attempt to buy a larger home (then our 1200 sq. ft. charmer) that we both love and can afford. We have determined this decision to be like the to have a baby... we will never have "enough money", we will always be "too busy" and we need to just go for it. This is the pep talk I am giving myself everyday from here on out.

I am telling you this so you have a little background information as to why I will be a stressed out ball of nerves for the next ____ months.

Build? Pre-Owned? Anderson? Eastgate? Milford? Batavia?

uuuuuuuugh.

Let's see how I did....

duh duh duuuuh:

• pack away too small clothes / organize larger clothes for Will (this is an ENDLESS mommy task they don't tell you about pre-kids!)

• buy mulch... and spread it after..

• weed and edge the flower beds

• plant window boxes

• plant back flower bed (that has been empty for two years, ugh)

• hang mirrors over Will's changing table (I DID ATTEMPT, AND FAIL AT THIS - BUT AM EQUIPPED TO DO IT CORRECTLY AS SOON AS I GET TO LOWES... YEAH, DON"T HOLD YOUR BREATH WILL)

• pack away baby swing, open new bigger baby toys

• take Will's 6 month pictures (ok, so almost 7 months...)

ok, it's not THAT bad of a success rate...

To Do.

I have a 4 day weekend... and I actually want to accomplish something on this little break from the daily grind. I'll check back and let you know how I do:

• pack away too small clothes / organize larger clothes for Will (this is an ENDLESS mommy task they don't tell you about pre-kids!)

• buy mulch... and spread it after..

• weed and edge the flower beds

• plant window boxes

• plant back flower bed (that has been empty for two years, ugh)

• hang mirrors over Will's changing table

• pack away baby swing, open new bigger baby toys

• take Will's 6 month pictures (ok, so almost 7 months...)

I can do all that in 4 days... and attend several Memorial Day parties... and watch a very wiggly semi-crawling 6 month old.... right?

even Will thinks it's funny!

Hello Again.

So some ladies (and a gentleman) here at work have introduced me to the world of couponing. I have a relatively addictive personality, and let's just say it's been like 3 days and I'm all consumed.

I have a binder. I have websites bookmarked. I have my shopper's card loaded. It's on like donkey kong.

This is being shared with you for two reasons:

1. If there is any CRAZY good deals I will share. But they'll be good, I won't bother you with a "free toothpaste" deal.

2. I want your coupons. If you get a "Smart Shopper" or "Red Plum" or anything else and just throw them away... and I see you on a regular basis... PLEASE GIVE THEM TO ME!

AND I'll be sure update you later on my progress if I actually stick with this and save some moolah.

and here's a picture of Will, because a post isn't a post without a picture.
